    The Coastal Chorale was formed in 1998, fulfilling a need to have a community based volunteer choral group that would be open to a multi-cultural membership and accessible to area citizens.  A Mission Statement was created.  "The Coastal Chorale brings singers together to sing, to learn, to laugh, and to love.

Since its inception, The Coastal Chorale has been singing and performing to enthusiastic audiences.  The Charter Members and I proudly debuted our chorus in December of that year.  As the years passed our performances grew to include theatrical elements like costumes, lighting and sound, sets, props, orchestras and stage crews.  The 65-voice Chorale routinely sang to nearly 1400 people during a two-night run of each concert.  This was exhilarating!  This was rewarding!  This was exhausting!  For me the remedy was to create an advanced performance ensemble, and I decided to call it, appropriately, ENCORE.
